The monthly story subscription that gives your child the words, the wisdom, and the inner tools to navigate anything life throws at them — and gives you the language to guide them there.

Every month, a beautifully illustrated coaching storybook lands on your doorstep — packed with wisdom your child will carry for life, and a Grown-Up's Guide so you always know how to bring it to life together.

When we were children, a package arrived at our door every fortnight – a gift grom Gran. Inside was a tape and a storybook. We'd gather around the tape recorder and be carried off to other worlds as we were told stories from every culture and every corner of life. We didn't know it then, but those stories were shaping our brains and the people we were becoming.
Decades later, Lorna is a children's occupational therapist and Jac is a primary school teacher with 27 years in the classroom. Between us, we've worked with hundreds of children, and we kept seeing the same thing: children were becoming less happy, less confident and more stressed and anxious.
So we decided to create Wise for My Size. Modern Aesop's fables. Stories with a wise guide at the heart, a child just like yours at the centre, and a lesson that lands not as a lecture, but as a key to unlocking their inner wisdom and happiness.

You're not worried about your child right now. You just know that the world is complex, feelings are complicated, and confidence doesn't just happen.
You want to give them something before the hard stuff arrives. Not a worksheet. Not a lecture.
A story. One that plants the seed so quietly they don't even realise it's growing.
That's exactly what The Wise for My Size Book Wise Library i is for.

The Storybook A gorgeous, fully illustrated Wise for My Size coaching story — written for ages 5–14, designed to be read together. Each one has a child at its heart, a wise guide by their side, and a real-life challenge at its core: worry, self-belief, mistakes, energy, comfort zones. Stories that don't preach — they show.
The Book Club Guide This is your secret weapon. A beautiful four-page full-colour booklet that you read before story night — so you understand the wisdom in the book and know how to bring it alive in your home. Think of it as having Lorna and Jac quietly beside you, helping you help your child. The Guide introduces the concept at the heart of the story — because you can't step outside your comfort zone if you don't know you have one. It gives your curious, why-driven child the reason before they need the lesson.
The Monthly Story Prompts (3 emails across the month) We don't just send a book and disappear. Over the month, you'll receive three gently timed emails with prompts, conversation starters, and ideas to help the story keep living in your home long after that first reading. The real magic happens in the third week, when your child refers back to it without being prompted.
The Growing Library This is the part that makes us most proud. Over a year, your home builds a Wisdom Library — 12 stories covering confidence, worry, resilience, self-belief, mistakes, kindness, and more. When a challenge crops up — a tricky friendship, a new school, a wobble — you reach for the shelf. The answer is already there.

Each month you will be supported to feel confident to help your child through the Book Club Guide. The Wisery gives your family a shared language to speak about mindset, emotions, or beliefs in a way that is easy to understand. This will provide you with ideas to help you know how to handle tricky topics and start conversations.

What would Harry say right now?"
This is what members tell us matters most — not the book, not even the lesson. It's the language the stories create in a family.
When your child is spiraling into self-doubt, you don't have to fumble for the right words. You just say "are you being an I-Can't Harry right now?" — and they know. They smile. They shift.
That's not a book. That's a shared language. And it lives in your home forever.
This has changed the way we view a problem!
"My little boy was an I can't Harry before we read this book together, now if a challenge comes up and he starts doubting himself I can say 'what would Harry say right now'? or do you want to be an I-Can't Harry or an I CAN Harry'? and he changes his mindset."

I LOVE Harry!
When we started this book, we weren't sure where the story was going to take us. As it unfolded our hearts began to soar! You become Harry's champion and get excited to see what he CAN achieve :-) That is great sign of a brilliantly written story - getting so involved with and invested in the characters! Interestingly, it can be easy for our children to notice how Harry is being held back, whilst not realising they are doing the same with their negative self talk (oh, that sounds like so many adults I know too!) Being able to refer to ourselves as "Having an 'I can't Harry' moment" is a safe, non-critical way of modelling self-awareness and encouraging our children to do the same. Mind you.....being reminded when WE are "having an 'I can't Harry' moment" BY our children is even funnier! It shows it's going in and they are recognising the power of self talk right?! So powerful! This book is an absolute belter! 5 stars!

"This book is a gentle story explaining diversities. It is a beautiful story. My daughter and I love it".
Arlyn B, mum to a neuro-sparkly girl
This book was great to help my son with a recent change in his life. It allowed us to have a conversation about it and explore feelings and thoughts together. It even made me think about things I do or should do outside my comfort zone. Can't recommend any of the Wise for My Size books enough.
Thank you, Lorna and Jac!
Lindsay D.

Wise for My Size was created by Lorna Davies, a children's occupational therapist, and Jac McGill, a primary school teacher with 26 years of experience. They are both children's Life coaches. The books are used by certified coaches across the UK and have helped thousands of children. They're also written by two women who grew up on stories and believe, to their core, that the right story at the right moment changes everything.
These aren't textbooks — they're adventures. But they're adventures with purpose. Children who need to know the why before they engage will find it in the Book Club Guide. Children who just love a good story will find a great one in the book. Either way, they're getting something that stays.
Not at all. Pause, cancel, or skip a month — just drop us a message. We want this to fit into your family's life, not add to your to-do list.
